Social Security Disability Hearings and The Corona Virus

March 16, 2020

The Social Security Administration has posted that starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020 their offices will be closed for in-person services, to protect citizens and those at especially at risk for CV-19. Their services are still available online as usual. Disability hearings will be conducted via telephone until things return to normal. Hearings should proceed on time this way. This is very good news for those who have been waiting months for their case to be decided.

Despite necessary sacrifices having to be made for safety due to the Corona Virus, Disability Hearings will remain in place via telephone in lieu of visiting the the Hearing Office. This should be a welcomed sigh of relief for those with scheduled Hearings, especially during this time of the learning curve associated with this virus, and an otherwise obligation owed to us by our government to ensure health protections are in place for everyone.
