More on Covid-19 Economic Impact Payments

April 17, 2020

Another update has come from the Social Security Administration announced on 04/15/2020. Those who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) will receive their payments automatically from the Treasury Department, no later than early in May.

Payments are automatic for recipients without qualifying children and the amount is $1200.

However, if you have qualifying children under 17, they receive $500 as a dependent child payment, and you as the beneficiary will receive your full amount of the $1200 payment. Non-filers of income tax should go here to learn more about the IRS program for non-filers.

This payment also applies to those disability beneficiaries, survivor beneficiaries, and those who receive retirement benefits. If you are using Direct Express debit cards, you will also find additional information as to what steps to take on the IRS website.

This is what the Agency has stated prior with the addition of the timing of payments. The Agency is updating guidance on a daily basis with the Corona Virus page and more information can be found on the Social Security Administration's website, to keep informed.
