Social Security has a separated listing of Compassionate Allowances.
Compassionate Allowances is a program to assist the Administration in ascertaining quickly, whether Social Security's defined medical condition qualifies you for a disability unlike the regular listings. However, a claimant must still meet the definition of a disability.
These types of conditions are reserved for the most serious cases of disability. The types of conditions are highly specific and even rare disorders, for example certain types of cancers, child and infant disorders. This program expedites the waiting time for a determination based on the severity of the condition, which are clearly within the statutory definition of Social Security's guidelines.
